A four piece band ready to bring some original tunes
as well as the ones you know by heart. Tommy Akers has spent the
last ten years as a professional musician. You may remember John
McDaniel from Hoosier Daddy and Tommy's band "Jack Tripper".
Tommy's debut
record “Southern Rock Evolution” features a cast of
great musicians and even greater original material. Recorded at
historic Cinderella Sound in Nashville TN. home to Bob Dylan,
Waylon Jennings, and Steve Miller Band just to name a few. Tommy
has made a name for himself as a consummate performer and a favorite
among blues enthusiast everywhere, from Beale Street to Chicago
and all points in between. The Tommy Akers Band is a guaranteed
good time for people of all ages where ever they are!

- Murr-Vegas AllStars
Stephen Keene leads this anywhere between 6 to 10 piece
local Murray band. Most of the musicians in the band are music
students at MSU. A very composed band with tons of talent and
a horn section, Murr Vegas plays anything from Jimi Hendrix to
Peter Gabriel...has anyone seen my "Sledgehammer"? Always
an entertaining show to see, music for everyone, and lots of dancing.

If you haven't seen AC live, it's an experience, including
FREESTYLING, IMPROVISATION, CROWD PARTICIPATION, INSTRUMENT SWAPPING,
even DRUM DIVING. There's nothing Criss won't climb and jump off
of and there's never a member of the crowd not subject to end
up on stage at any time!
The songs range from complex to simple yet always maintain a pop,
radio friendly edge - easy to sing along to yet hard to play;
and the show is as high-energy as the young, heavy bands can get
(except AC isn't HEAVY, AC is...well...you decide).

Anywhere from Bob Seger to Violent Femmes this new local band
will play plenty of tunes you have all heard before. Claims to
be influenced by a lot of different bands- Tool, A Perfect Circle,
311, Breaking Benjamin, Godsmack, Cry of Love, Slash (from GnR),
Kenny Wayne Shepard, B.B. King. Come show your support for this
local band making their Big Apple debut.

Cicada Omega
A transcendental junkyard blues experiment from Portland, Oregon.

17 - Dan Cohen and The Levees
"A show that will open a window onto what's happening on
the other side of the Nashville music scene." A Homecoming
show of sorts, Dan was raised in Murray by two MSU professors.
Cohen describes himself as a guitarist, singer, songwriter, whom
has a retro sound combining blues, soul, jazz, bluegrass, the
Beatles and Randy Newman. Dan currently released a new CD in September
self titled "Dan Cohen."

John McDaniel leads this five piece local rock band. HYD covers
anything from Mustang Sally to Yellow Ledbetter. Covering mostly
classic rock favorites and top forty contemporary rock, Hoosier
Daddy has also been known to throw a couple of Willie Nelson and
Johnny Cash top picks in the mix as well. High energy show, great
Ryan Cain guitar solos, and guranteed good times.

No matter where these boys may be, they seem to make a scene,
and it might be for a goodreason. Meet Bordertown, a group of
young musicians dedicated to making the kind of music that they
all love- Country Music that rocks. Hard. More than just musicians,
the members of Bordertown are best friends, and their friendship
leads to a mojo that nearly everyone in their presence can sense,
and it has help them to become one of the fastestgrowing bands
on the scene.
